Our Mission

Mental Health Equity

Addressing the unique mental health needs of Hmong women

THE MENTAL HEALTH GAP

Asian Americans, including Hmong women, are significantly less likely to seek or complete mental health treatment — with dropout rates in some studies approaching 50%. The reasons are complex: stigma, language barriers, provider cultural incompetence, and the lived reality that existing systems were not designed with our communities in mind.

Hmong Women Lead exists to close this gap. We create culturally grounded resources, train providers, and build community spaces where mental health is no longer a taboo subject but a foundation for thriving.

Our collaborative mental health guide for professionals equips therapists, counselors, and healthcare organizations to provide effective, respectful care for Hmong women clients.

Community Conversations

Through our summits and storytelling initiatives, we create brave spaces where Hmong women can openly discuss mental health, trauma, and healing without shame.
